The Leonida Map: Every Region Confirmed So Far

Grand Theft Auto VI takes place in the state of Leonida, a fictional take on the sunniest corner of America. Players have been trying to piece together the map since the first trailer. This guide lists only the regions Rockstar has named on its own pages, and says plainly when something is not confirmed.

Leonida, the Goodtime State

Rockstar's trailer pages describe the game as heading to the state of Leonida, which holds Vice City and the land around it. Rockstar's store nicknames it the Goodtime State, and it sells a double-sided Leonida map poster as merchandise. That poster shows there is a mapped state, but we did not find a full in-game map published by Rockstar, so we do not describe one in detail.

Regions Rockstar has named

Vice City

Vice City is the city most associated with the game. Rockstar calls the setting the sunniest place in America and frames the story as a darker side of that sunshine. Beyond that tagline, the sources we checked give no neighborhood-level detail, so we leave that to the finished game. You can see the city in each video in our trailer guide.

The Leonida Keys

The Keys are where Jason's story begins in Rockstar's profile: a character who grew up around crooks and found himself working for local drug runners. The official page for the region is the best place to look for new material. See our Lucia and Jason guide for the people tied to the area, such as Brian Heder and Cal Hampton.

Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn

Rockstar's radio announcement says the Back Country station's music reaches Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and beyond. That one sentence tells us these are distinct places with a rural or wetland feel, and little more. The Grassrivers page on Rockstar's site is the only dedicated source we found for that region.

Names we could not confirm

Other place names appear in fan discussion. Our searches of Rockstar, Take-Two, PlayStation and Xbox pages did not return clear confirmation for them, including a place called Ambrosia and a mountain called Kalaga. Until Rockstar confirms them, we treat them as unconfirmed and leave them off the list.

What comes after launch

Once the game is out on November 19, we plan to add practical guides: a region-by-region map, collectibles and secret locations. Those will only appear after we have verified them. For now, our verified facts list keeps the confirmed details in one place.
