Lucia and Jason: What We Know About the GTA 6 Protagonists
Meet Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, the two protagonists of Grand Theft Auto VI, plus the supporting characters Rockstar has introduced, all from official profiles.
Rockstar Games has built Grand Theft Auto VI around two leads. Their names are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and their official profiles live on Rockstar's "Only in Leonida" pages. This article summarizes those profiles in our own words and marks what is still unknown.
The premise
Rockstar's description of the story is short. After an easy job goes wrong, Jason and Lucia are caught in a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida, and they have to rely on each other to survive. The setting is Vice City and the land around it, which you can explore in our map guide.
Jason Duval
Rockstar says Jason grew up around grifters and crooks. A stint in the Army was meant to shake off his troubled youth, but he wound up in the Keys, where he works for local drug runners. His profile presents meeting Lucia as a turning point that could go either way for him.
- Background: petty crime in his youth, then the Army.
- Current situation: working for drug runners in the Leonida Keys.
- Pre-order content: store material mentions a personalized sidearm for Jason, the Girardi ES9, plus tattoo and styling options.
Lucia Caminos
Rockstar describes Lucia as a fighter whose childhood was shaped by her father's training. She fought for her family and ended up in Leonida Penitentiary, and sheer luck got her out. Her goal is tied to her mother's long-held dream of a comfortable life, the good life her family has wanted since their days in Liberty City. Rockstar presents Jason as a possible route to it.
- Background: trained by her father, then prison time.
- Goal: a better life for herself and her mother, and smarter choices from here on.
- Pre-order content: store material mentions a personalized sidearm for Lucia, the Klose K17, plus tattoo and styling options.
