GTA 6 Release Date, Platforms and Price: Everything Confirmed

If you only want the short version: Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, at $79.99 for the Standard Edition in the United States. This guide walks through each of those facts, where it comes from and what is still not announced.

The release date

Rockstar Games published the current date on its newswire: the game is now set to launch on November 19, 2026. The post moved the launch from the earlier target of May 26, 2026, and Rockstar said the extra time was for polish. Older articles around the web still show the May date, so check the publication date of any source you read.

The game is nearly here, which makes the date practical rather than theoretical. Pre-orders are open, and the publisher has already set a pre-load date, covered below.

Platforms

The game is confirmed for two systems:

• PlayStation 5, listed on PlayStation's own product page.
• Xbox Series X|S, listed on Xbox's product page with the same November 19 date.

It is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One. A PC version has not been announced: the official Rockstar, PlayStation and Xbox pages name only the two current consoles. Rockstar has brought earlier games to other platforms later, but any date or plan for GTA 6 on PC would be speculation, and we do not treat it as news.

Price and editions

Take-Two Interactive announced pre-orders on June 24, 2026, with sales opening on June 25. The US prices it listed are below, and the US PlayStation Store listing shows the same two figures.

Prices in other countries differ, and stores can change them, so use your own console store as the final word.

Pre-order bonuses and pre-loading

Several offers are tied to buying early:

• Vintage Vice City Pack: included with purchases made before November 20, 2026.
• GTA+ trial: digital pre-orders include one month of the GTA+ subscription. The store listing notes that the subscription auto-renews and gives a claim deadline of March 31, 2027, so read the terms before you accept.
• Pre-loading: digital pre-orders can begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026, one week before launch.
• Physical copies: the boxed version contains a download code rather than a game disc, and it unlocks pre-loading from November 12 as well.

Age rating

Earlier Take-Two releases said the game was not yet rated. That has changed: the ESRB now lists Grand Theft Auto VI as M for Mature 17+. The descriptors include blood and gore, intense violence, nudity and strong language, and the listing notes in-game purchases. The game is written for adults.

What has not been announced

Being clear about gaps matters more than filling them with guesses. In the official sources we checked, we found no announced PC release, no stated download size and no confirmed details on a story expansion or online mode.
